Resolution of establishment

At its meeting on Tuesday, 31 October 2023, the Assembly passed the following resolution:

“That:

  1. a Select Committee on the Voluntary Assisted Dying Bill 2023 be appointed to examine the Bill and any other related matters; (2) the Committee be composed of:
    1.  two Members to be nominated by ACT Labor;
    2.  two Members to be nominated by the Canberra Liberals; and
    3. one Member to be nominated by the ACT Greens;
      to be notified in writing to the Speaker by 3pm today;
  2. the chair of the Committee shall be an ACT Labor Member;
  3. the Committee is to report by 29 February 2024; and
  4. the foregoing provisions of this resolution, so far as they are inconsistent with the standing orders, have effect notwithstanding anything contained in the standing orders.”
